King For A Day

I felt a little sheepish, a little self-conscious, a little embarrassed when I entered Austin’s El Rey, “The King,” a gentleman’s spa that offers far more than a clip.

You’ve Never Seen a Spa Like This in Texas

The suites at La Torretta will have a modern European style—and Texas-sized bathrooms. Water is the theme of this wellness-oriented spa resort. Image courtesy Stuart Rosenberg. The first picture of Lake Conroe’s upcoming resort has seen the light, and it teases La Torretta Del Lago’s clean, modern European motif. COO Marc Leffman says each lavish room features a mini-bar, two 42-inch flat screens and a “Texas-style” bath.  That’s appropriate. When it opens this fall, La Torretta will be a water-lover’s paradise.

Wildcatter Ranch & Resort

Wildcatter Ranch and Resort is a premier guest ranch offering both corporate and individual travelers a true Texas welcome in the style of upscale, but down-home Texas hospitality, with the best in western ranch activities combined with luxurious surroundings. Located on a Texas range, near the town of Graham, this 1500-acre spread echoes a rich anthology of buffalo hunts, Indian camps and oil boomtown history; with its soft grazing bottomlands, rugged hill terrain covered with rocks, cactus, oak, mesquite, juniper trees and breathtaking views of the Brazos River Valley.
