Floating and Feasting
When the owners of Far Flung Outdoor Center in Terlingua teamed up with Chef François Maeder, owner of Crumpet’s Restaurant and Bakery in San Antonio, they created a unique expedition called the Gourmet River Rafting Adventure. This three-day, 20-mile journey takes rafters down the Rio Grande as it winds its way through the heart of Big Bend NationalPark. What truly sets this experience apart from typical rafting trips, however, is the delightfully delicious campfire cuisine that Chef Maeder dishes up along the way. To date, as the adventure nears its 20th anniversary, nearly 2,000 happy campers have been served.
