The Valley Star reports:

"Proposed changes in the state's voting laws would require everyone to prove their citizenship in order to vote in local, state and national elections."

Why this would be controversial, I have no idea. Texas Republicans are introducing measures in the upcoming legislative session to prevent voter fraud. But opponents of the measures are calling it the "voter suppression bill."
