Reata Fort Worth
True to the rugged spirit of its Texas origins, not even a tornado could drive Reata out of Cowtown. When the devastating storm ripped through downtown in the spring of 2000, Reata was still located high atop one of Fort Worth's most prominent skyscrapers. Despite the challenges of shattered windows, water damage, and countless items swept away by high winds, Reata managed to reopen in little more than a month.
Although Reata has since traded its 35th floor view for a rooftop patio in the heart of Sundance Square, the essence of the original location still echoes in the interior design. For instance, if you look closely at the copper trim in the Library Bar, you'll notice that its weather-beaten finish is authentic, having been painstakingly salvaged from the shattered tower. And if you dine downstairs, you'll see that we've re-created the breathtaking view from our old roost.
These nostalgic touches are more than mere souvenirs from a destructive storm; they are a tribute to the strength and stamina of those who have helped to build and rebuild Fort Worth into a legendary city we're proud to call home.
